My favorite yearly trip moved to May!!!

It is my pleasure to announce the fourth, annual and another unique Yoga retreat on the shores of beautiful Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
.

ONE YOGA, GUATEMALA RETREAT

May 8-May 15, 2010
Lake Atitlan, Guatemala

{ Schedule }

Villa Sumaya is a hotel, restaurant, and retreat center located on Lake Atitlan at 4,500 feet above sea level. Its world-class, lakeside yoga facility with hardwood floors and a cascading waterfall boasts breathtaking views of Lake Atitlan and the three volcanoes, making it an ideal location in which to relax, unwind, and draw closer to your Self. Your teacher will support you in this endeavor by guiding you through two intensive classes each day. The retreat will be structured in a workshop style, allowing ample time to explore standing poses, forward bends, backbends, hip openers, arm balances, twists, and inversions. Pranayama, meditation, mantra, mudra, and yogic philosophy will also be incorporated for a complete One Yoga experience.

As we all know, it's one thing to go through the motions in a yoga class, and another thing entirely to take the yogic mentality off of your mat and into your life. Not just another picturesque resort, Villa Sumaya is also an organization that practices yogic principles by being active in the local indigenous community and supporting fair trade and sustainable development practices. Due to its close ties to the community, retreat participants will have a unique opportunity to participate in such activities as a protection ceremony with a traditional Mayan shaman, a tour of sustainable buildings and projects in the local community of Santa Cruz, and visiting a fair trade market where crafts made by local artisans can be purchased in good conscience.

Registration and Payment Options:

$1530 if paying for double occupancy
$1740 if paying for single occupancy

All prices include a $700 non-refundable deposit.
Please inquire about payment plan options.

Price includes all yoga classes, lodging, and three vegetarian meals daily and is based on double/single occupancy. It also includes a tour of sustainable efforts in the local community of Santa Cruz, a visit to a fair trade market, and a group protection ceremony with a traditional Mayan shaman (individual divinations available for a small additional fee).

Please note that air and ground transportation are not included in the retreat pricing. Current round-trip airfare to Guatemala City are around $300 from JFK and $400 from LAX. Airfare prices are likely to increase as the date approaches.
