Presenting a new approach to an in-depth study for accomplished yoga teachers and those in training along the shores of beautiful Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
A HATHA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING RETREAT

Modules:
The teacher training will be structured in three parts, or modules, that are ideally designed to be completed in order. This allows time to not only immmerse yourself within the module but to give a certain amount of time to live in the practices from module to module.
Individually, all modules will offer enough independence for students to explore, broaden and develop their personal knowledge which can be taken immediately into their teaching and living.
Composed of a strong blend of hatha yoga practices and surrounding philosophies the modules also serve as a great value to long standing students and teachers for integration of philosophies that enrich our living.
Module 1: The Fire of Purification
Sat., May 8, 2010 – Tue., May 18, 2010
This module provides more than a general overviewof yoga concepts, theory, and sequencing. Here a strong focus on base asanas and pranayama techniques are practiced extensively and move in-depth along side of yoga concepts and theories. Essentially we practice a way to develop that burn for living, teaching and creating. All modules will include exploration of the physical and subtle but here we learn to cultivate and develop the fire within.
This module is most ideal for practitioners who would love to learn in a teacher training capacity but may not be able to put in time to a 200 or 500 hour program. Its focus is expansion through practice more than just theory and will allow you to independently link common as well as advanced yogic thoughts such as karma, dharma, etc. One "way" masters commonly refer to is observation through contact; not only with the teacher but with like-minded practitioners. A Hatha Yoga Retreat is best described as an 80 hour retreat, workshop and ashram/living experience.
For advanced teachers, this will serve as a great tool to refresh your practices and art of teaching with a variety of viewpoints (as opposed to only one way, in which we are commonly fed.) This program creates space for a way! A space for you to create your way.
As a teacher (and practitioner) it is easy to feel exhausted or a lack of creative spark. We read a bit, study some or follow a view that we have been taught or have decided upon. We are told to disregard what we do not know to be safe (usually involving injury, psychological struggles, and emotional queries). Commonly, we begin to rely on the technique rather than the energy in the technique. Here we ask to view, open up to the fire, becoming the operator of our own technique.
Module 2: Journey to Self
Sat., September 4, 2010 – Tue., September 14, 2010
This module not only draws on the previous module, but adds a deep inner focus - one that not only explores more advanced asana and pranayama techniques but also includes concepts of pratayahara and dharana as a whole moving and living experience. The subtle body, including chakra bandha therory and mudra, will be major component of this section.
This module is most ideal for the practitioner who would like to harness a personal theory derived from the expansion of their personal practice to utilize in teaching or working with others beyond what is typical classroom teaching. We will further the process of involution - evolving out of the life principle - which serves as an excellent tool in taking a self-practice (sadhana) and utilizing it as a technique to work with others with manifested intent.
One "way" masters commonly refer to is observation through contact; not only with the teacher but with like-minded practitioners. A Hatha Yoga Retreat is best described as an 80 hour retreat, workshop and ashram/living experience.
For advanced teachers and practitioners, this will provide you with a great tool. You! Here we begin to move beyond the self-technique but see the use of it in working with others or identifying personal Journeys to the Self.
Module 3: Living Your Practice
Wed., January 5, 2011 – Sat., January 15, 2011
This module is a synergetic effect of Module 1 and 2 with an emphasis on deeper exploration of the Self and the fuel necessary to maintain inner harmony. Mantra will be explored deeper than in prior modules and emphasis will be placed on expanding the Self to directly affect or bring about the world in which you would like to walk - inner sustainablility and the use of the non-technique.
